Extant's value depends on its discipline. These are the standards every engagement is held to.
Publicly available information only
Every Extant enquiry draws exclusively on information that is lawfully accessible to any member of the public. We do not access private accounts, closed groups or protected systems.
No unlawful access, no pretexting, no covert techniques
Extant does not impersonate, deceive, befriend or engage with subjects. We do not use false profiles, social engineering or any covert method. We examine the record; we do not create it.
Proportionality
Every enquiry is scoped to a defined, legitimate objective. We investigate what the objective requires — no more. If a request cannot be met proportionately and lawfully, we decline it and say why.
UK GDPR
Each engagement proceeds on an identified lawful basis. We practise data minimisation: only material relevant to the objective is retained, and everything is held under a defined retention schedule.
